In brief: The CAS ETH in Nutrition in Medicine

Everyone talks about nutrition in all its forms. But what is really useful in terms of prevention and treatment of chronic diseases? The CAS provides the scientific background to this question.

Structure and content

Programme description

The programme is designed to deepen the knowledge in the field of nutrition. After a brief introduction to the basic concepts of nutrition and digital nutrition monitoring, specific topics in nutrition and metabolic diseases and nutrition and aging will be covered in depth. Other topics include the interactions between nutrition and health and the latest developments in personalised nutrition. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to assess the potential of nutrition in the context of disease treatment and prevention and evaluate appropriate therapies.

To provide a solid understanding of nutrition in relation to disease prevention and health for medical practitioners and related fields.

Professional perspectives

The CAS will provide a solid training in nutrition to medical practitioners who will be able to apply the knowledge in their everyday work with patients. This will open up supporting options in prevention and treatment.

Structure and format

The CAS ETH in Nutrition in Medicine is a one year programme consisting of six modules with the interactive elements taught in block courses. The programme is taught predominantly online with input lectures available as recordings and online interactive elements (workshops, presentations etc.)
