Application documents for all programmes

  • Copy of diploma certificate and transcript (of records) of the highest or most relevant degree. Important: If not in German/French/Italian/English, then in original language and with certified German/French/Italian or English translation.
  • Passport copy or identity card: Scan of your passport valid for at least 6 months: page with photo, name, date of birth, expiry date. Only CH/EU/EFTA valid identity card (front and back), if no passport available
  • DownloadDeclaration of consent (PDF, 94 KB), signed and filled out

Additional documents (programme-specific)

Check the programme overview on the SCE website to see which additional documents are required for the chosen programme, e.g. reference, job reference, portfolio, letter of motivation

Formats and notes on documents

  • Documents must be uploaded in PDF format; Word documents and image files (JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIF etc.) are not accepted.
  • Maximum file size is 5 megabytes (MB)
  • Combine multi-page documents into a single PDF document before uploading
  • For double-sided documents, scan the front and back sides
  • Features such as stamps or seals must be visible on the scan
  • Document legends (usually on the back) must be scanned, preferably once for each transcript uploaded
  • Scanned documents must be clearly legible and printed on standard A4 paper
  • Do not upload documents with password protection or macros

Once you have all the required documents, apply online via eApply for your desired programme.

Not accepted

  • self-made transcripts
  • screenshots from self-service portals or from transcripts/deeds
  • additional annotations/changes on the transcript
  • printouts of transcripts from the student account (except for accounts from Swiss universities)
  • transcripts signed by the student's own hand (self-attestations)
  • transcripts without security features (such as stamp, signature, hologram)
  • transcripts certified or signed by third parties (e.g. notaries, consulates or other universities)
