Transfer of knowledge and technology
As a continuing education specialist we work closely with companies, professional associations and other universities in Switzerland and abroad, making our expertise, management competence and networks available to them.
ETH Zurich attaches great importance to the transfer of knowledge and technology between universities and practice. Here we call on the know-how of ETH Zurich departments, institutes and didactic and educational technology specialists.
We offer the following services:
- Promotion of collaboration between companies, professional associations and universities
- Guidance on continuing education issues
- Design of continuing education concepts
- Help with setting up continuing education events/programmes
- Evaluation, market analysis and needs assessment
- Quality assurance and development
- Expertise and research projects
New programmes frequently involve external partners or emerge at the direct request of companies and associations. Many are unique in Switzerland and Europe, such as the MAS ETH in Future Mobility.
We involve the relevant stakeholders (participants, alumni, companies, professional associations etc.) in the planning, implementation and evaluation of continuing education programmes. This is central to our quality management.
Examples of successful cooperation
Cooperation with companies, associations and universities takes many forms: we involve external lecturers in teaching, engage external consulting bodies and enter into partnerships. Examples are:
- MAS ETH in Mediation in Peace Processes: Federal Council initiative, cooperation agreements with various states (e.g. Germany, Finland, Sweden, United Nations)
- CAS ETH in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry, Radiopharmacy: Close cooperation with the universities of external pageLeipzig and external pageLjubljana
- CAS ETH in Business Management for Architects and Engineers: Cooperation with the external pageSwiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA)
