Quality in continuing education
ETH Zurich continuing education measures itself according to the highest international standards. Its quality is regularly evaluated and development is ongoing. Features specific to continuing education are also taken into account:
- Clients, companies and professional association primarily define continuing education quality in terms of its effect on workplace and career.
- Rapidly changing requirements call for a high level of flexibility and familiarity with clients. Practically no course is exactly the same the second time around.
- Ways to compare a programme with other programmes are limited, because many continuing education programmes on the market are unique: they are intended for specific target groups and involve diverse groups of instructors from science and practice.
ETH Zurich is constantly developing its continuing education offer, and involves the most important players in the process.
- In its continuing education programmes ETH Zurich orients itself according to both its own strategic goals and to the quality recommendations of external page Swiss University Continuing Education [in German].
- The range of programmes and courses is checked via regular departmental peer reviews and the institutional quality audits of the external page Swiss agency of accreditation and quality assurance (aaq).
- ETH Zurich involves participants, alumni, employers, professional associations etc. in the planning and evaluation of its programmes.
- Continuing education programmes are only accredited in individual cases, in sectors where accreditation is standard.
