In brief: The MAS ETH in AI and Digital Technology

The programme provides a targeted education in machine learning, artificial intelligence and other digital technologies to managers without prior formal training in computer science in order to advance their career.

Structure and content

Programme description

The first half of the MAS consists of three CAS programmes that provide a theoretical and practical foundation in data science, ML, AI, software development, networks and cloud computing. In the second half of the programme, participants deepen their skills with an intensive AI Project and learn about more complex topics such as cybersecurity. The MAS programme finishes with a thesis on a topic selected by the participants in consultation with their thesis advisor.

Objectives

The goal of this programme is to improve the decision-making of managers by providing them with fundamental training in the areas of information management, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and other digital technologies that is applicable across many consumer-facing and service industries as well as multiple areas of the organisation.

Professional perspectives

Graduates of the MAS ETH AID can take on more challenging roles in interdisciplinary projects with significant software, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity components. They also extend their existing management skills to include managing staff and projects in these areas.

Structure and format

Participants complete 3 CAS, MAS courses, AI Project and master thesis over 2.5 years.

Classes are generally conducted in either a block format or blended learning format. Study workload is approximately 1,500 hours, including lectures, study time and performance assessments.
