Structure and content

Programme description

Free choice from the long list of advanced courses offered by the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET) completed with a thesis on a current research topic.

Objectives

The participants acquire new skills and deepen their knowledge in a chosen area of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

Professional perspectives

A continuing education degree at D-ITET allows you to progress: by expanding or deepening your specialist knowledge and by strengthening and renewing your current degree with a recognised diploma from an excellent Swiss technical university.

Structure and format

Part-​​time study programme with individual course selection adapted to the needs of the candidate, under the supervision of a professor (tutor). Participants enrol for at least 3 courses (18 credits). They complete the programme with a thesis (12 credits) of 3 months full-​​time or 6 months part-​​time. Please note that the courses are taken from the regular offer of the Master's programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and are not specially adapted to the needs of part-​time studies.

Additional information

Prior to the application candidates must have found a professor of D-​ITET willing to act as supervisor during the studies (tutor) and both authorise the study plan and supervise the diploma thesis.

Target group and admission

Target group

Electrical engineers with work experience.

Requirements

Master's degree in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering acknowledged by ETH or equivalent educational qualification.

At least two years of work experience after graduation.

Required language skills

To apply for the DAS ETH ITET, you must have the consent of a tutor to assist you during your studies. Send the Tutor-​Agreement completed and signed by your tutor to Reto Kreuzer, study coordinator D-​ITET.

Verified copies of diploma and transcript of records are mandatory.
