Two medals for exceptional theses in ETH continuing education

We at the School for Continuing Education congratulate Loretta Berger and Patrick Nagel, two graduates of our study programme MAS ETH in Management, Technology, and Economics who were awarded the ETH medal for their exceptional thesis.

As their final assignment, students in our MAS programmes are asked to conduct a comprehensive scientific project. For this, they identify a relevant research problem, select an appropriate methodological design and build a profound theoretical basis. They then gather and analyse valid empirical data to shed light onto how the real world at the heart and around the problem looks like and document their findings, together with contributions to theory and implications for professional practice. The medals are awarded annually per cluster.

Laureates 2022

Loretta Berger's thesis "Supply Chain Management in Humanitarian Forensic Action: Characteristics and Challenges" and Patrick Nagel's thesis «Testing the Market Potential of a Novel Medical Technology as a Direct-to-Consumer Product» were both found to be of exceptional quality, both, with regard to their generation of original knowledge and their practical relevance for stakeholders in the field.

Our Vice Rector for Continuing Education, Professor Stefano Brusoni, conferred the awards as part of the graduation ceremony on MTEC Day, November, 4th.
